Bob Allen is a premier brand which now focusses specifically on the clay shooting niche. Founded over 60 years ago towards the end of WWII by American Bob Allen, who started the business in a parachute shop, the first product sold was a long billed hat designed to keep the sun out of bomber crews eyes. Bob Allen died in 2004 but his company lives on, still based entirely in the USA and still producing great quality shooting accessories!

Bob Allen Wraparound Shooting Glasses

Perhaps the best shooting glasses that the Bob Allen company produce are these, a fantastic range of wraparound shooting glasses. These glasses are right up there with the best that we have seen in terms of safety, the lenses on these glasses made from 2.2 mm of shatter resistant Polycarbonate, and meet all ANSI safety standards. Now, every pair of glasses that we have featured on this site – without compliance they wouldn’t be safe to label as ‘shooting glasses’ – but many of the glasses that we feature have just 1mm lenses!

The lenses offer UV protection too for additonal protection against harmful sun rays (effectively doubling up as sunglasses), whilst dry protection rubber touch pads on the nose and prongs prevent your glasses from slipping when your head becomes sweaty. These stylish shooting glasses are available with two different sets of lenses, one set features gray, yellow and clear lenses (pictured above left) and the other set features pink, yellow, and orange lenses (pictured right). The lenses are interchangeable and can all be stored along with the frame in the included high quality case.

Each lens color will respond differently depending on light conditions and shooting environment and many shooters will try out different lens colors to find the perfect clarity of vision. The normal retail price for each set is $33, but buy from Amazon and they can be yours for as little as $27 with free shipping depending on which set you choose. Awesome product!
